744th Anniversary of the Battle of Evesham

Every year, on the nearest Saturday to August 4th, a wreath is laid in memory of Simon de Montfort. Simon died on August 4th 1265 at the battle of Evesham.

Anna Lord, Secretary of the west Mercia Battlefield Trust, laid the wreath.

The Simon de Montfort Memorial is in Abbey Park, Evesham

A very simple but important service, followed by refreshements at nearby Church House.
