Heart of England Britain in Bloom Awards

September 3rd 10.30am

Each year Heart of England Britain in bloom holds is competition and the awards are presented in a different place. This year Pershore Abbey was chosen.

One of the early awards is the Environment Award, which went to Wychavon District Council and Pershore town council for the Avon Meadow Community Wetland in Pershore. Mayor of Pershore, Chris Parsons was asked to collect the award on behalf of all the partners involved in the project. See below.  Presenting all the awards today was Sir William Lawrence OBE, president of Britain in Bloom

Awarded Gold in the small town category, Pershore town. A fantastic achievement and all credit must go to Val Wood and Alan Gregg (kneeling), seen here collecting the award on behalf of the town.
