September 11th 3pm
A day of activities promoting health and wellbeing took place at Evesham’s new leisure centre in celebration of its opening.
The event included giveaways, sports coaching, information on the Warmer Worcestershire project, information on how to quit smoking and a smoothie bike, where visitors can use their own pedal powered to create their own fruit drink.
Emma Wild, Wychavon’s communications manager, said: “Residents are obviously keen to see the new leisure centre and they will not only get to have a look at the spectacular new facility, but also have fun and get some information on how to keep even healthier.”
The new £11million centre opened to the public on September 7. It houses a 25m swimming pool complete with moveable floor, a Rivers Fitness Room, a four court sports hall, climbing wall, and health suite with spa pools, sauna and steam room.
The new youth bus that will be touring the district was there. This facility will go to villages and areas of Wychavon as a mobile meeting point for the youth. At the moment it is still being kited out with items our young people want to see in it.
Driver are recruited at any early age 🙂
