April 10th 7.30pm
Redditch Palace Theatre
The Palace Theatre, Redditch which has had a modern facelift outside
and an inside view from the circle, showing the fabulous original and restored, 1920’s style.
The Astwood Bank Operatic Society, got things off to a flying start with Gilbert and Sullivan HMS Pinafore and De Fledermaus by Johann Strauss
Laurel and Hardy turned up to support the Mayor’s charity
as did the Bel Canto Singers.
After the interval, the fabulous Indigo Arts performed. They were joined at one point by a Mr Coconut Billy (aka Malcolm Hall, Mayor of Redditch, far right)
Indigo Arts, well some of them
and some more
and even some more.
This was brilliant concert, with wonderful contributions from, Redditch Amateur Theatrical Society, Arrow Valley Junior Brass Band, Fusion Reborn, Anthony Tremaine and a duet with Louise Maguire and Brett Elesmore singing an excerpt from La Boheme. All gave their time and talent free.
The show was designed to show the breadth of youth talent in Redditch and it certainly succeeded in that. Well done Malcolm.
